our work together:

LOOKING TO START

A NEW CHAPTER?

Are you tired of feeling lost within yourself? Is shame, guilt, perfectionism, impulsiveness, confusion or pain pulling you away from being present in your life?

Maybe you feel lost within the chaotic world around you? Has your life taken an unexpected turn, or is it stuck in the same unfulfilling routine as always?

Are you always looking for something to "fix" your life, or something to "fix" about your life? Is problem solving mode your M.O. ?

Do you feel alone in a crowded room, because those who care for you just don't get it, despite their best efforts?

Are you & your loved ones suffering from the immovable distance that has settled in your relationships? Are you ready to re-connect?

I BELIEVE

ALL PEOPLE HAVE WHAT THEY NEED WITHIN THEMSELVES IN ORDER TO LIVE PEACEFULLY, POWERFULLY, AND PURPOSEFULLY.

Our past experiences - the pain in our story lines break us apart from our core and we become disconnected from our true self. That true self - the center - is the part of you I can help you access in our work together. Once you start to believe you have all the tools within yourself to experience a peaceful, joyous & fulfilling life, you can begin to heal and live with wholeness again. In therapy I hope to give you the reigns to so that you can re-write your story - a story that aligns with your values, hopes, & dreams.

MY APPROACH

While I draw from many different therapeutic approaches and theories to address different needs for my clients, I often combine the following approaches so that you feel as though your therapeutic journey is catered towards your own unique hopes , desires, and dreams. The foundation of my work revolves around story telling, parts work, and attachment. I teach clients skills from evidence based modalities so that they can actively use tools in their day to day life.

STORY WORK

   narrative theory

What's your story? I'd love to hear it. Everything you have done in your life, every person you've met, every interaction you've had, every hurt, every hope, every heart you've encountered leads up to the summary of your personal story. Our stories are often focused on pain, shame & regret, self judgement, & fear.  But our stories can be altered. I believe I can help you re-create meaning into your life so that your new story can be told in a safe, accepting therapeutic space.

PARTS WORK

   internal family systems theory

Like a multi-faced crystal, humans are uniquely complex. IFS strives to identify, accept, and validate all different parts of the person. Some of these parts have arisen within and wounded from trauma, and need to be healed. Although we are beautifully multifaceted, we have a core, centered "self" that is the part of us that is fit to guide all other parts of ourselves, and can even be the nourishing source of healing for a fulfilled and balanced existence.

ATTACHMENT WORK

     attachment theory

Emotional and physical attachment to caregivers throughout life directs "attachment styles" that influence how you see others in relation to you, and how you see yourself in your relationships. You may lean towards a way of connection that is unsatisfying. This work strives to rebuild healthy connection to the self and trust in others so that your relationships are an addition to your life, rather than a stressor.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of therapy that focuses on accepting difficult emotions and thoughts, while also committing to living life in line with your values and goals. This therapy can be used to help with a variety of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and trauma. The goal of this therapy is to help you identify a choice point where you can decide to make changes in your life that will bring you closer to your values and goals, rather than letting the difficult feelings control your behavior.

SOMATIC EXPERIENCING

Somatic Experiencing is a body-based approach to trauma treatment that focuses on promoting self-regulation and healing through physical sensations. It is a powerful tool that can help you identify and release stored trauma from your body by releasing physical tension.  By focusing on the physical sensations of emotions and trauma, we can create a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection and find ways to work through emotional stress. My approach is grounded in mindfulness practices that aim to help you achieve a greater sense of awareness and balance.

Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) helps clients to develop present moment awareness, a mind-body connection, and the practice of meditation. Through this approach, clients learn to recognize and reframe unhealthy thought patterns, develop an understanding of their emotional state, and cultivate a sense of self-compassion and acceptance. By combining mindfulness practices with cognitive-behavioral techniques, clients can develop the skills they need to manage their thoughts emotions in the manner they desire.

FOCUSED EMDR

Safety and Attachment Focused EMDR is a therapeutic service that blends attachment, compassion, mindfulness, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to help clients process trauma.

Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is an effective therapy for treating acute and childhood trauma. EMDR uses eye movements, or other forms of bilateral stimulation, to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories, reduce their impact, and replace them with new, healthier coping skills. This powerful therapy has been proven successful in helping people to process and heal from traumatic events. S.A.F.E EMDR ensures a safe and secure environment for healing through specific language, mindfulness, and compassion based practices.
